March 10th: Uprising Day

March 10th is National Uprising Day. On March 10th, 1959, the Tibetans rose up against Chinese rule inside of Tibet, bringing a violent backlash and resulting in the fleeing of the Dalai Lama into exile.

Greeting His Holiness at Gaggal Airport; A Talk From a Rangzen Activist: Tenzin Tsundue

On the way to Gaggal Airport Saturday morning the 27th to greet the Dalai Lama on his return from America. This is not just because he met with Barack Obama, but is done every time His Holiness returns to Dharamsala. The people of Dharamsala line the streets in Mcleod Ganj to greet him, but because Sarah (I have established that it's not "Sarha" after all) college is farther down the mountain, the students instead greet him at the airport entrance.
